Odido Phishing Defense: How to Spot the Scam

With 6.2M numbers leaked, phishing attacks are imminent. Learn to spot fake Odido SMS and emails before you click.

The most immediate danger following the Odido breach is a wave of sophisticated phishing attacks. Hackers have your name, number, and bank details—making their scams look terrifyingly real.

01The 'Verification' SMS Scam

You receive a text: 'ODIDO: Uw bankgegevens moeten worden geverifieerd ivm de recente hack. Klik hier: odido-veiligheid[.]nl'. **THIS IS A SCAM.** Odido will NEVER ask you to verify bank details via SMS links.

02The 'Bank Investigator' Call

A caller claiming to be from your bank (ING, Rabo, ABN) calls. They know your IBAN and Odido customer number. They claim your account is 'at risk' and you must transfer funds to a 'safe account' (kluisrekening). **HANG UP IMMEDIATELY.** Banks never do this.

03What to do if you clicked

1. Contact your bank immediately. 2. Change your passwords. 3. Report the SMS to Odido.
